How to Rip a Cd Again Windows Media Player
Hallo Jeanne
Is at that place a reason why the CD is showing every bit 'Unknown'? For example is it a CD that has been burned, rather than a commercial release? Besides, when you ripped it the beginning fourth dimension, in what format were the files created? There are a few possibilities why it may not re-rip then I demand a scrap more detail offset.
Thanks, Ric.

after receiving an automatic email from Microsoft asking is my question was answered, I am reporting no reply receved--maybe it just isn't possible. I ended up resolving the problem by going to a dissimilar reckoner and ripping the CD there, and then copying the mp3 file to a thumb bulldoze and so to my desktop estimator.
And, at present only before clicking on "submit" I am seeing a response--but I never received an email letting me know this had been posted.
I was called-for/ripping a number of audiobooks and it turns out that 2 of them had been burned to a file in a created folder named unknown artist and Wndows Media showing track one, rails 2, etc. and name of album "unknown album". Without my realizing it, the showtime was overwritten by the second because of the aforementioned file names. And then, when I tried to burn that start one, Windows Media Player showed it as already ripped. My ripped files are ever in the mp3 format.

Thanks for the update - occasionally a bug in the forum interrupts the shine flow of electronic mail alerts. At that place was a particularly bad patch terminal month as it happens.
Yous seem to have resolved the problem this fourth dimension only for time to come reference if you go to upload a CD and no information is added automatically, you can either search manually (only with items like audio books that may not help) or edit the information yourself earlier you rip the disc - just a title and writer will stop it going in as 'unknown' yous don't need to name every track. Then you lot won't get the overwriting problem again.
Correct click adjacent to the anthology foursquare to edit manually every bit shown below... Regards, Ric.

Thanks very much for the editing manually--and, it does hateful that I have to pay more attention, to be sure that each time I am ripping, the title comes upwardly, or that I need to edit. but...does that mean that the only piece of work around, if I have overwritten the "unknown" is to rip on a different computer?

As I call back. if you lot check for any unknown items and post-edit them in much the same way (in WMP) - then the problem should not occur... and if you rename a CD - even if it has been ripped earlier, you should and then be able to re-rip it with the new credentials. If the boxes are unchecked and it is saying 'Ripped to library' only re-check the boxes and tell it to rip. I don't exercise much ripping these days considering virtually of my audio is either already ripped or comes via streaming, but I hope I'm remembering this correctly!
Another aspect that seems to have changed is the titling because if this happened back in my XP days (when I didn't actually empathize it fully myself) WMP would add the date/time to annihilation untitled, so if I so ripped another 'unknown' disc there was no chance of overwriting. Oh well...
Hope you can now circumvent reoccurrences at least... All-time, Ric.
